Jakarta - Gerindra Party politician and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has spoken out regarding the political safari of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to several regions, which began today in Lampung. Meeting journalists at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (26/6/2026), Prasetyo said he respected Jokowi’s move. “We are from Gerindra. We would like to wish him well, as it means he is healthy again and fit; previously he was somewhat unwell. As a figure and statesman, I think there is no problem with it,” he said. Regarding Jokowi’s support for the Prabowo-Gibran leadership to continue for two terms, Prasetyo was reluctant to say much. According to him, there is still a lot of work that the President must complete. “Not yet, not yet. If we are representing the government, representing the President, the important thing is to focus on working first. We are not thinking about that yet. There is still a lot of work that must be done,” said Prasetyo. “For instance, there are still many employment issues. Then, there are still many issues regarding our teachers that we must organise. Civil service issues must be organised, industrialisation and downstreaming issues still need to be resolved. We are focusing on that first,” he continued.
