Pramono's Style in Catching Plecostomus Fish: Using Gloves Without Entering the River
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung directly inspected the plecostomus fish capture operation on Jalan Janur Elok VI Blok QD9, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026). Kompas.com observations at the site showed Pramono arriving around 07:30 WIB, wearing long trousers, black shoes, and a jacket in red and white. He was accompanied by the Director General of Aquaculture at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) RI, Haeru Rahayu, Head of the DKI Jakarta Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office, Hasudungan Sidabalok, Mayor of North Jakarta Hendra Hidayat, and Commander of the Navy Military Police Centre, Major General Harry Indarto. Then, he and his entourage descended and stood on a floating cube. Pramono appeared not to enter the river. From above, Pramono monitored PPSU officers, the Blue Troops of the Water Resources Agency (SDA), and Navy (TNI AL) members who had already entered the river to catch plecostomus fish. About 10 minutes later, the officers found a plecostomus fish. Residents and media crew present erupted in applause. The fish was then handed to Hasudungan before finally being given to Pramono. Unlike Hasudungan, who took the fish with bare hands, Pramono used orange gloves when holding it. After that, the fish was lifted and shown to the media crew. He appeared delighted, evident from his laughing facial expression as he displayed the catch. Shortly afterwards, the fish was placed into a sack.
