Pramono's Message After Inaugurating 884 DKI Jakarta Officials: Foster Innovation!
Jakarta — The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has sworn in 884 civil administrators, supervisory officials, group leaders, sub-group chairs, and heads of puskesmas (community health centres) within the Jakarta Provincial Government at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. In the ceremony, Pramono urged the civil servants to deliver public services that are fast, comfortable, and truly beneficial to the people of Jakarta. ‘Congratulations to the 884 officials—administrators, supervisory officers, group leaders, sub-group leaders, and heads of puskesmas—on your inauguration today. The mandate you bear is not just a job assignment, but a trust to provide the best possible public services for the people of Jakarta,’ Pramono said. He stressed that the positions are more than assignments; they represent trust to deliver excellent services. The inauguration is part of strengthening the bureaucracy and governance based on meritocracy that is fair, transparent, and accountable. He also urged the newly sworn-in officials to reinforce adaptive and collaborative governance, while bringing innovation to the workplace. ‘Let us nurture innovation, build a healthy and conducive work culture and ethos. Provide public services that are fast, comfortable and felt by all residents of Jakarta,’ he added. Aside from public service matters, Pramono highlighted the waste management issue in Jakarta, described as a shared homework. He urged all levels of the Jakarta Provincial Government to accelerate the implementation of the waste-sorting movement to make Jakarta more livable for future generations. During the occasion, Pramono also outlined the achievements of the DKI Provincial Government ahead of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary. One of them is the reduction in the number of slum neighbourhoods (RW kumuh) in Jakarta. Pramono stated that the number of RW kumuh declined from 445 RW in 2017 to 211 RW in 2026, a drop of 52.58 percent. ‘This indicates that Jakarta’s development direction has reached down to the community level,’ he said.
