Pramono's Last Chance for PPSU Personnel Who Manipulated JAKI Photos with AI

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has given a final opportunity to Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officers (PPSU) and their superiors involved in manipulating photos of their work results using artificial intelligence (AI) on the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app.

Pramono stressed that the incident must not happen again.

“Including the one in Kalisari, that truly tarnishes Jakarta’s face. And we, I as Governor, do not want it to happen again, so there is no room for it to be repeated,” Pramono stated during an evaluation meeting at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

“I ask that there should be no more just pleasing the leadership, but real work in the field,” he said.

In this case, three PPSU officers involved have been given sanctions in the form of Warning Letter 1 (SP1).

Pramono said he had met them directly and given a stern warning.

“I conveyed that this is their last chance if they still want to work in DKI Jakarta,” he said.

Not only the field officers, but their superiors also received sanctions.

From the section head to Kalisari Ward Head Siti Nurhasanah, they have been relieved of their duties.

“Relieved of duty means from the position they currently hold. Coincidentally, in Kalisari, it is the ward head who holds it; we are relieving her from the ward head position for coaching,” Pramono said.

“But I also do not want to ruin someone’s career,” he added.

Pramono hopes that the coaching provided will improve the performance and integrity of the apparatus when they return to work.

Public policy observer Yusfitriadi assesses that the Jakarta Provincial Government’s step to relieve the apparatus of duty in this case is appropriate.
