Pramono's Considerations for Choosing Lapangan Banteng as Host for Lebaran Betawi

The event is an annual traditional affair, but this is the first time it will be held at Lapangan Banteng. Why? To be honest, I am the one who chose Lapangan Banteng, because it has now been completely renovated, and we also connect it to the A.A. He hopes the event, taking place from 10–12 April 2026, will run smoothly. According to him, supporting facilities such as parking areas have been adequately prepared. Additionally, Lapangan Banteng is integrated with various public transportation modes, such as KRL, JakLingko, and TransJakarta.

Lebaran Betawi, themed “Lebaran Betawi for Jakarta: Strengthening Unity in Preserving Traditions Towards a Global Jakarta City,” begins with a thanksgiving night filled with recitations, maulid, tahlil, sermons, and joint prayers on Friday from 18:30–21:30 WIB.

The following day, from 08:00–23:00 WIB, various cultural attractions such as ondel-ondel, tanjidor, silat, and gambang kromong will be held, along with ceremonial activities, a grand silaturahmi, and public entertainment like lenong Betawi and layar tancep.

On the final day, starting from 06:00–22:00 WIB, relaxed and interactive activities will take place, including group exercises, traditional Betawi games, folk storytelling, cultural carnivals, procession of hantaran, Betawi culinary presentations, and music performances.

The public can enjoy a variety of Betawi cuisine and visit a bazaar of local products, thereby encouraging economic growth for UMKM actors.

To support the smooth running of the event, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency will also implement traffic flow circulation routes around the Lapangan Banteng area in Central Jakarta starting today until 12 April 2026.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, detailed that traffic from the West (Juanda) to the East (Gunung Sahari) can go via Jalan Ir. H. Juanda-Jalan Pos-Jalan Dr. Sutomo-Jalan Gunung Sahari or via Jalan Ir. H. Juanda-Jalan Pos then turn right onto Jalan Gedung Kesenian, then turn left onto Jalan Budi Utomo-Jalan Gunung Sahari.

Furthermore, he said when contacted in Jakarta on Friday, traffic from the East (Gunung Sahari) to the West (Juanda) can go via Jalan Gunung Sahari-Jalan Dr. Sutomo then turn left onto Jalan Gedung Kesenian, turn right onto Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, turn right onto Jalan Katedral, turn left onto Jalan Veteran.

Next, traffic from the East (Gunung Sahari) to the West (Gambir) can go via Jalan Gunung Sahari-Jalan Budi Utomo-Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, turn right onto Jalan Lapangan Banteng Barat-Jalan Taman Pejambon.

Finally, traffic from the West (Gambir) to the East (Gunung Sahari) can go via Jalan Perwira, turn left onto Jalan Katedral, turn right onto Jalan Pos-Jalan Dr. Sutomo-Jalan Gunung Sahari.
