JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has urged subdistrict chiefs and urban village heads across the capital to ensure that no resident struggles to meet their basic needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr. He said the Ramadan period up to the eve of Eid should be a serious concern for local government, especially in helping those less fortunate. ‘Ramadan is nearly upon us, so the Jakarta Provincial Government also hopes, through Baznas Bazis, that there will be no residents in Jakarta during this Ramadan who are unable to meet their basic needs,’ Pramono said at the Zakat, Infak, and Sedekah (ZIS) discharge event for officials and leaders of state-owned enterprises within the Jakarta Provincial Government at the City Hall, on Thursday (5 March 2026). Pramono also emphasised that regional apparatus should not hesitate to coordinate with the provincial government or agencies such as BAZNAS to ensure aid can be disbursed promptly. ‘If there are such cases, I urge mayors, regents, camats to immediately coordinate, whether through us — the Jakarta Provincial Government — or through BAZNAS and BAZIS,’ he said. In the same event, Pramono also highlighted the importance of disbursing zakat, infak, and sedekah funds collected through BAZNAS (Bazis) of the DKI Jakarta Province so that they are truly targeted. In 2025, the ZIS funds collected amounted to around Rp 396 billion. Pramono urged that these funds be disbursed promptly to those in need, especially during Ramadan. He hoped the social funds would help the local government tackle various social problems, including economic inequality in Jakarta.
