Pramono Anung, Jakarta Governor, has urged that there should be no coercion from civil society organisations or any other party in demanding Eid allowances (THR) from employers as the Islamic holiday approaches. “Hopefully, there will be no coercion from any organisation or anyone demanding THR,” Pramono stated when encountered in the East Jakarta area on Tuesday, 10 March.

He noted that Jakarta has long been recognised as having a conducive business environment. He therefore hopes that relations between employers and the public can be maintained in good standing without pressure from any quarter.

Pramono also advised employers to respond wisely to external requests for Eid allowances. According to him, maintaining a conducive business environment is most important to ensure economic activities in the capital continue to run smoothly.

“For employers, if I may suggest, because Jakarta, especially for us, we must maintain the life that has been running well,” Pramono said.

To support the Eid celebrations this year, the Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared several initiatives. On 12 March 2026, a Hijab Fashion Show will be held in the Tanah Abang area. Subsequently, on 19 March, a Bedug Festival will be held in the evening, followed by a torch procession.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is also offering various attractive promotions, including free public transport and discounts at shopping centres, to enable the public to enjoy the Eid holiday in the capital.
