Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, stated that the enforcement of the area behind Grand Indonesia (GI) in Central Jakarta must be carried out. He urged the city government not to be half-hearted in regulating that area.

“Including myself personally calling the Central Jakarta Mayor directly about the area behind Grand Indonesia that has already been cleaned up, it must be continued,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

He stated that the area that has been regulated must be maintained so it does not become chaotic again. He does not want street vendors and illegal parking attendants to reappear after the enforcement.

“No more half-hearted measures,” Pramono said.

Previously, a video of the chaotic conditions on Kebon Kacang Street, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta (Jakpus), due to illegal parking went viral on social media. The Central Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) deployed a joint task force to enforce order on the streets.

Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin said the enforcement was carried out to make the Kebon Kacang area conducive again. He admitted that illegal parking still exists there.

“The enforcement in the Kebon Kacang area is an effort to restore the function of city facilities as they should be. So far, illegal parking has still been found at several points that disrupt order and environmental comfort,” Arifin said on Tuesday (10/3).

This chaotic parking situation occurred in the Kebon Kacang area, specifically behind the Grand Indonesia (GI) mall. Arifin said the enforcement was carried out to return the city facilities in the Kebon Kacang area to their intended purpose.
