Pramono Urges Security Guard at Crossing Not Be Sacked, Highlights Alphard with Fake Plates
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has requested that the security guard involved in a dispute with a Toyota Alphard driver in the Bundaran HI area not be dismissed.
According to him, CCTV footage owned by the DKI Provincial Government shows that the guard was in fact carrying out his duties properly.
Pramono said he had repeatedly reviewed the CCTV recordings, including footage more complete than the video that went viral on social media.
From that examination, the Alphard was said to have committed a violation while passing through the crossing area.
“As for the guard’s fate, I ask that he not be sacked or dismissed. The person concerned was in fact carrying out his duties very well. The CCTV shows it was the Alphard that committed the violation,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (24/7).
Not only that, the DKI Provincial Government has also received reports that the vehicle was using fake number plates.
For that reason, Pramono asked law enforcement to take firm action against the driver if the matter is not resolved properly.
“We have also received reports that the plates used by the car are fake. The person who should be sanctioned is the one who committed the violation, not the one who reprimanded them,” he said.
Pramono stressed there must be no arbitrary action against officers carrying out their duties.
He ensured the guard would continue working as usual, as he had acted in accordance with procedure.
“I ask that the guard not be sacked and remain employed. He carried out his duties well. Everyone can see it from the CCTV, including the more complete recordings held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. We have also identified the person who was behaving aggressively,” he asserted.
