Pramono urges Satpol PP to take firm action against motorists who drive the wrong way
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo has asked the Jakarta Satpol PP to coordinate with the Police to take firm action against motorists, especially those who frequently drive against the traffic on several roads in Jakarta. “For anyone who violates the regulations, I have asked Satpol PP to take firm action and coordinate with the Police authorities,” Pramono said at the City Hall in Jakarta on Thursday. Pramono acknowledged that the direct ticketing system procedures are no longer applied as before. Because of this, many violators end up only receiving warnings. “Thus, wherever there is driving in the wrong direction, firm action should be taken,” he said. Vehicles frequently go the wrong way in front of the Office of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on the way to Otista III or make a U-turn in front of the Jatinegara sub-district office. The situation often disrupts traffic flow. In South Jakarta, motorcycle riders also continue to go against the traffic on Jalan Lebak Bulus Raya, Cilandak, heading to Pondok Indah. Similar violations also occur at the railway crossing on Jalan Industri Raya, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
