Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has urged newcomers planning to arrive in the capital following the 2026 Lebaran holidays to ensure they complete all administrative requirements. Nevertheless, Pramono reiterated that his administration will not conduct any justice operations or data collection targeting migrants. “As I have repeatedly stated, there will be no justice operations in Jakarta. However, we ask that anyone wishing to work in Jakarta completes all necessary administrative requirements,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Saturday (21/3). Pramono also requested that migrants seeking employment or opportunities in Jakarta work according to their capacities and abilities. “And also, yes, work according to their capabilities,” he added. Furthermore, Pramono predicted a surge in job seekers in Jakarta after Lebaran, though he did not disclose the estimated number. “And indeed, we now suspect there will certainly be a surge of people seeking work in Jakarta,” he stated. Previously, Pramono assured that no justice operations or data collection would be carried out against post-Lebaran 2026 migrants. He emphasised that DKI Jakarta is open to all citizens wishing to come and seek employment. Therefore, he has instructed all ranks not to conduct justice operations. “Jakarta will remain open to everyone, so I will not order any justice operations or screenings for that. Jakarta remains open to anyone,” he told reporters at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, on Saturday (7/3).
