Pramono urges mudik travellers to report to RT/RW before leaving home

This is intended to prevent potential criminal acts such as burglary of homes left by their owners during the mudik period. He said reporting to RT and RW is important so that the surrounding community knows the conditions of residents’ homes that are left during mudik. Moreover, homes left without prior notice can pose security risks. This allows oversight by local administrators or nearby residents. In addition, Pramono reminded residents not to immediately blame the government at the community level if an unwanted incident occurs. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also ensures public services continue to run even though some staff are applying a flexible working arrangement. The policy of working from anywhere (work from everywhere/WFE) for civil servants will be implemented in the near future. Nevertheless, Pramono assured that the service system has been prepared, so the public will not experience any changes in accessing government services. “Even though WFE will start next week, for public services in Jakarta we have prepared them so there will be no changes whatsoever,” he said. He also urged those who will mudik to ensure their homes are securely locked and to coordinate with neighbouring residents during their absence.
