Pramono Urges Mass Organisations Not to Coerce Entrepreneurs into Paying Holiday Bonuses in Jakarta
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has appealed to civil society organisations not to coerce entrepreneurs into providing holiday bonuses (tunjangan hari raya/THR). Pramono expressed hope that coercive THR collection practices will not occur in Jakarta.
The statement was made by Pramono during a visit to the Regional Special Hospital (RSKD) in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (10 March 2026). He emphasised that Jakarta must maintain a conducive business climate.
“For entrepreneurs, if I may suggest, since Jakarta is especially important for maintaining a good way of life that is already running well, I hope once again that there will be no coercion from civil society organisations or anyone else to request THR,” said Pramono.
According to Pramono, relations between communities, organisations, and business operators must be maintained to remain harmonious. Therefore, he expressed hope that there would be no actions that could disrupt business activities in the capital.
On the same occasion, Pramono also responded to residents’ complaints regarding health insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) services at hospitals. He acknowledged that he has requested the Jakarta Health Office to improve and complete administrative requirements so that BPJS services can run more smoothly.
“I have requested that administrative requirements be improved and completed, so hopefully in the future BPJS can resume operations,” he said.
