Jakarta (ANTARA) – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has asked his officials to complete planned projects promptly so that spending from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) does not pile up at the end of the year.

At a press conference on third-quarter 2026 APBD realisation at City Hall, the Jakarta administration’s expenditure was reported at Rp40.40 trillion, or 54.39% of the Rp74.29 trillion budget allocation, as of 30 September 2026.

“I have specifically asked regional agencies to complete their activities promptly so that they do not pile up at the end of the year,” Pramono said at the event on Wednesday.

Pramono said regional spending activities often take place towards the end of the year. He said this had become a recurring practice in both central and regional government.

He said work that is accelerated only as the year draws to a close can create a backlog in November and December.

“Because this has always been a tradition, both in central and regional government, everything gets piled up at the end of the year, whether in November, December and so on,” Pramono said.

He therefore asked his officials to complete work in stages from the beginning of the year, once the APBD has been approved.

On the same occasion, Pramono said Jakarta’s regional revenue realisation had reached Rp44.98 trillion, or 62.95% of the Rp71.45 trillion target, as of 30 September 2026.

He said most of Jakarta’s regional revenue came from tax receipts. Regional financing receipts stood at Rp6.46 trillion, or 64.43% of the Rp9.88 trillion target.

Regional financing expenditure was recorded at Rp2.02 trillion, or 28.74% of the Rp7.04 trillion allocation.

Pramono stressed that disclosing information on APBD realisation was part of the regional government’s responsibility to the public.

In his view, budget use should not be assessed solely by the size of revenue and expenditure, but also by the benefits it delivers to Jakarta residents.

He said he hoped transparent budget management would strengthen public trust and support development in Jakarta.

“Are public services in Jakarta getting better? Is economic activity also improving and becoming more transparent? Is development meeting residents’ needs?” Pramono said.
