Pramono Urges Education Office to Proactively Assist Students Eligible for KJP
Jakarta — The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, has requested the Jakarta Education Office (Disdik) to implement a ‘proactive approach’ in managing the administration for students entitled to receive the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).
Pramono noted that as many as 40,166 children who are eligible for the KJP have failed to receive the assistance because they have not completed the required administrative processes.
“Based on data from BPS and our own records, there are approximately 40,166 children who are entitled to receive it but have not processed the paperwork to receive it,” Pramono stated during a visit to the Flona Exhibition at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, on Friday.
According to Pramono, this step is being taken to ensure that eligible children do not lose their right to educational assistance simply due to administrative delays.
Pramono mentioned that these 40,166 children are recorded in the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) within deciles 1 to 5, representing the low-income communities targeted for this assistance.
Pramono expressed that he does not wish to simply wait for the public to apply for the aid. Consequently, his administration will actively reach out to or visit those recorded as eligible for the KJP.
“For these 40,166 students, we will take the initiative to reach out to them, rather than just waiting for them to register from the existing data,” said Pramono.
Pramono explained that these students will be included in the second phase, second wave of the KJP, once they meet the specified requirements.
“If the individuals are willing, meet the criteria, and submit all necessary documents, they will be announced in the second phase, second wave,” Pramono elaborated.
Meanwhile, for the first wave of the second phase of the KJP, the Jakarta Provincial Government has designated 661,209 students as recipients. This figure consists of 491,000 existing recipients and 169,643 new recipients, with a total budget prepared of approximately Rp1.5 trillion.
