Pramono Urges 884 Newly Appointed Officials to Drive Innovation

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated 884 administrative and supervisory officials within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The oath-taking ceremony was held at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The group included 884 officials comprising administrators, supervisory officers, group heads, sub-group heads and heads of community health centres (Puskesmas).

“The trust you bear is not merely a job assignment but a trust to deliver the best possible public services for the people of Jakarta,” Pramono said.

Pramono urged the newly sworn officials to innovate. He said public services must be fast and comfortable.

“I specifically ask the officials to continue strengthening governance that is adaptive, collaborative and transparent. Let innovations emerge, build a working culture, a healthy and conducive work ethos. Provide public services that are fast, comfortable and beneficial to all residents of Jakarta,” he said.

Pramono also touched on the waste issue in Jakarta. He asked all ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to accelerate the waste-sorting movement.

“I ask all levels of the Jakarta Provincial Government to speed up and accelerate the implementation of the waste-sorting movement,” he added.

Pramono then commented on Jakarta’s achievements ahead of its 499th anniversary. He stated the number of slum RW in Jakarta decreased from 445 RW in 2017 to 211 RW in 2026.

“This indicates that Jakarta’s development direction has reached the living environments at the lowest levels of the community,” he said.
