The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has officially established the design logo for the 500th anniversary, or Jakarta’s 500th foundation day celebration, which will be held on 22 June 2027.

The approval of this logo was accompanied by an affirmation from Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung that the new visual identity will definitely not replace various existing city slogans.

Pramono guaranteed that the new logo is purely dedicated specifically to celebrating the pinnacle moment of Jakarta’s 500th anniversary.

“Regarding the logo, it will not change anything that already exists in Jakarta. This is a logo welcoming five centuries, and five centuries only happens once. The peak of the 500th anniversary commemoration falls on 22 June 2027,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (10 March).

“Therefore, this is not like previous occasions where we changed other things; this is simply a special logo to welcome Jakarta’s 500th anniversary,” he added.

Pramono stated that the winning logo had been selected through a sufficiently rigorous curation process. He noted that the selected logo came from 10 that were shortlisted.

“So for the logo, from 10 that participated in the competition, from many contenders 10 became 5. From 5, ultimately one was decided, which has now been approved, and the logo is as follows,” explained Pramono.

Following the approval of this logo design, Pramono immediately instructed all his officials to move forward with a campaign to publicise the visual identity for Jakarta’s 500th anniversary commemoration.

“I have also directly requested all regional apparatus organisations, then state-owned enterprises, and all officials within the Jakarta Provincial Government to help socialise this logo,” said Pramono.
