Pramono to Revitalise Jakarta Islamic Centre Grand Mosque
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that he will revitalise the Jakarta Islamic Centre Grand Mosque in Koja, North Jakarta. The mosque has been derelict following a severe fire incident in 2022. This was conveyed by Pramono to journalists when attending the inauguration of the SMP & SMA Labschool Ciracap building in East Jakarta on Thursday, 16 July 2026. “For the Islamic Centre or the mosque in North Jakarta, the calculation process is currently underway for immediate repairs and renovation,” Pramono said on Thursday. According to Pramono, the mosque has been abandoned for too long without any repairs being made. For this reason, he intends to revive the mosque located on Jalan Kramat Raya, Tugu Utara, Koja, North Jakarta. He stated he is open to external parties wishing to cooperate in this revitalisation. “I will convey the external party as part of it; in the private sector, there is CSR, but it is more or less like that,” he said. Pramono added that he has currently partnered with a party willing to repair and renovate the long-closed mosque.
