Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo is set to resolve the stalled construction of a road running parallel to the railway tracks in the Pasar Minggu area of South Jakarta, a project that has remained unfinished across seven gubernatorial administrations. “The road parallel to the railway in Pasar Minggu, which passes through the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), has not been completed by seven governors. So yesterday, in a meeting two or three months ago, I decided this should be a priority to finish,” Pramono stated in West Jakarta on Thursday. Pramono admitted that residents have frequently urged him to address the project. Consequently, after other projects such as the revitalisation of Jalan Rasuna Said and the construction of Sumber Waras Hospital are completed, he will immediately focus on finishing the Pasar Minggu parallel road as a task that must be resolved promptly. He hopes the road’s existence will help reduce the persistent traffic congestion in the Pasar Minggu area. On the same occasion, Head of the Jakarta Highways Agency Heru Suwondo conveyed that land acquisition in the area will be carried out this year. He noted that physical construction is scheduled to commence in 2027. “God willing, land acquisition will be this year, and physical construction next year,” Heru explained.
