Pramono to Investigate Kalisari Sub-District Head Over AI Photos Used to Follow Up on Residents' Reports

The Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct an examination of the Kalisari Sub-District Head in East Jakarta regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) photos to follow up on residents’ reports through the JAKI application. The Jakarta Provincial Government will also not hesitate to impose punishments on parties found guilty. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that he has already instructed his subordinates in the Inspectorate to examine the Kalisari Sub-District Head. In addition, the Inspectorate has been asked to examine the Head of the Transportation Sub-Department (Kasudin) of East Jakarta. “I have asked the Inspectorate to examine whether it is the sub-district head, namely the Kalisari Sub-District Head or the Kasudin,” he said in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/4/2026). He emphasised that his side will not hesitate to impose sanctions on guilty subordinates. This is because the case of using AI photos to follow up on residents’ reports is deemed to tarnish the name of the Jakarta Provincial Government. “Whoever is wrong must be punished, and this must not happen again, because for the Jakarta government, transparency is an important matter,” said Pramono. He reminded all his subordinates to work honestly. If there are residents’ reports that have not been followed up, his subordinates must inform it as it is. “It is better, for example, if it is not finished, then just say it is not finished rather than doing what, done with AI which essentially is deceiving,” he said.
