Pramono to Inaugurate JIS Bridge and Break Ground on 'Donut' Bridge for Jakarta's Anniversary

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has prepared a series of inaugurations and groundbreakings for infrastructure projects as part of the 499th anniversary celebrations of Jakarta. Among them are the groundbreaking for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck, also known as the ‘donut’ bridge, and the inauguration of a connecting bridge between the Ancol area and Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

Pramono stated that the series of Jakarta anniversary events will commence on 21 June 2026. On that day, the Jakarta Provincial Government will inaugurate road names and simultaneously conduct the groundbreaking for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck.

“In addition to the road naming, on the same day we will also hold the groundbreaking for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck on the 21st,” Pramono told reporters in the Darmawangsa area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6/2026).

According to Pramono, the construction of the pedestrian deck is part of efforts to strengthen public transport integration in the Dukuh Atas area, which has long served as a hub for various mass transit modes in Jakarta.

Furthermore, a day later on 22 June 2026, the Jakarta Provincial Government is also targeting the inauguration of the Ancol-JIS connecting bridge. In addition to the bridge, the KRL station located within the JIS complex will also be inaugurated if all preparations are completed.

“On the 22nd, we will inaugurate the connecting bridge between Ancol and JIS, as well as the KRL station in front of JIS. If that can be done, it will be a gift for Jakarta,” he said.

Pramono mentioned that these various projects and programmes are part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s gift to residents for the city’s anniversary celebration this year.

In addition to the infrastructure inaugurations, the Jakarta Provincial Government will provide free access to all regionally managed transport modes on 22, 27, and 28 June. The free services include MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, Transjakarta, and JakLingko.

Beyond transport, a number of tourist and educational destinations owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government, such as Ancol, Ragunan, Monas, and museums, will also be opened free of charge for residents holding a Jakarta ID card.

“On those dates, everything is free. The only requirement is having a Jakarta ID card,” he added.
