Pramono to Inaugurate H.R. Rasuna Said Road Revitalisation This Week
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is ready to inaugurate the infrastructure project resulting from the revitalisation of the H.R. Rasuna Said area in South Jakarta on 21 June 2026, in celebration of the city’s 499th anniversary. “There will also be an official Car Free Day activity,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Thursday. In addition to inaugurating the H.R. Rasuna Said area, he will also lay the first stone for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck. The event will also include a waste sorting assembly. Pramono stated that, in accordance with Governor Instruction Number 5 of 2022, the waste sorting movement has become a primary need for Jakarta. The following day, 22 June 2026, Pramono will inaugurate a connecting bridge between Ancol and the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), as well as a KRL station in the area. He also announced that, for the first time, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a haul (commemorative gathering) for Betawi ulama and habaib on 19 June 2026 as part of the city’s anniversary celebrations. “Many figures, whether religious, social, or otherwise, have contributed to Jakarta’s progress. Because Law Number 2 of 2024 stipulates that Jakarta’s identity is Betawi culture, this haul for religious scholars and habaib is dedicated to Betawi figures,” he explained. As a gift for Jakarta residents, the provincial government will also provide free public transport services on Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT Jakarta on 22, 27, and 28 June 2026. “And on those dates, entry to Ancol, Ragunan, museums, Monas, and other places will also be free. That is the gift from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to its citizens. The only requirement is having a Jakarta ID card,” he said.
