Pramono to Hold Special Meeting Next Week to Discuss Tendean Footbridge

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will hold a special meeting next week to discuss accelerating the reconstruction of the Tendean Pedestrian Bridge (JPO), which was damaged after being struck by a crane truck. Pramono stated that the meeting was requested because the incident had just occurred and required immediate attention. The meeting will focus on determining a construction scheme to ensure the repair process does not take too long. Pramono assessed that the Tendean JPO is vital as it is located in a strategic area with high public mobility. He noted that if the construction relied solely on the Regional Budget (APBD), the process would be very time-consuming, requiring an amended budget. Therefore, the meeting will also discuss alternative financing through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes and strategic partnerships with private companies, including the possibility of granting naming rights. Another option to be reviewed is the use of the Floor Area Ratio (KLB) mechanism or the Principle Approval for Land Release or Location (SP3L). Pramono stressed that the reconstruction must not be delayed because of the site’s strategic importance. Regarding potential legal action against the company owning the crane truck suspected of causing the damage, Pramono said a decision would be made during the meeting. Previously, the South Jakarta City Administration, through the Bina Marga sub-department, dismantled the Tendean JPO in Mampang after a heavy equipment truck became stuck on the bridge. The dismantling was necessary because the support pillars had partially detached.
