Pramono to Discuss Depok's Proposal for Five New Transjabodetabek Routes

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has responded to the Depok City Government’s proposal regarding the addition of five new Transjabodetabek routes. Pramono said the proposal would be discussed further with the Depok City Government. According to him, the need for transportation connecting Jakarta with its buffer zones is increasingly urgent. “Yes, I have read the proposal. We will discuss it with the Depok City Government later,” Pramono said in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (4/7/2026). Pramono stated that the development of Transjabodetabek services has now become a necessity. The transport mode is considered effective in reducing congestion caused by the high mobility of residents who commute daily to Jakarta. “What is clear is that Transjabodetabek has now become a necessity. It is proven to be a solution for reducing congestion for residents who travel to Jakarta in the morning and return to their homes in the afternoon,” he said. According to Pramono, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to encourage the strengthening of public transport connectivity with buffer zones, including Depok, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi. This effort is aimed at facilitating commuter mobility while reducing the use of private vehicles. Previously, the Depok City Government in West Java proposed five new Transjabodetabek bus routes. The Depok Transportation Agency is currently awaiting approval from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Secretary of the Depok Transportation Agency, Aan Syurahman, said the proposal for the new routes had been submitted since April 2026. He acknowledged having coordinated with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency and Transjakarta regarding the operational plan. “We have coordinated with various parties, including Transjakarta and the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency. The aim is to develop Transjabodetabek routes to facilitate the mobility of Depok residents,” Aan said, as quoted from the official Depok City Government website on Wednesday (1/7/2026). Aan explained that the five proposed new routes are: 1. Shila at Sawangan-Lebak Bulus. 2. Terminal Sawangan-Kuningan. 3. Terminal Depok-Cinere-Blok M. 4. Terminal Jatijajar-Terminal Kampung Rambutan. 5. Adjustment of the Universitas Indonesia-Manggarai route (which previously served the Terminal Jatijajar-Manggarai route).
