Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that he will reduce the operational hours of the Car Free Day (CFD) programme along Jalan HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta. This adjustment is an evaluation of the inaugural CFD implementation on Jalan HR Rasuna Said last Sunday (10/5/2026). According to Pramono, shortening the CFD hours is necessary to avoid disrupting church worship times on Jalan HR Rasuna Said on Sunday mornings. “There are requests, especially from places on Rasuna Said, sorry, for their worship. Because their worship usually starts at 10:00 WIB,” Pramono explained after inspecting waste processing at Pasar Kramat Jati in East Jakarta on Monday (11/5/2026). “So we immediately decided that for Rasuna Said, the Car Free Day will still start at 05:30 WIB, but it will definitely end earlier,” Pramono clarified. However, Pramono stressed that he would accommodate input and criticism from the public, especially those attending church services. “But for Sudirman-Thamrin, we will also start at 05:30 WIB, and whether it ends at 10:00 or 09:30 WIB, we will decide soon before 1 June. But specifically for Rasuna Said, of course I am considering input and suggestions from the community who will be worshipping,” said Pramono.
