Pramono to Change CFD Hours in Jakarta, Rasuna Said Prepared as New Location

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung plans to change the operating hours of Hari Bebas Kendaraan Bermotor (HBKB) or Car Free Day (CFD) in the capital. The plan for the change will still be announced after further review. “At the right time, I will announce that there will be changes to the hours for Car Free Day,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (6/5/2026). This location will later be functioned like the Sudirman-Thamrin area, which has been the centre for CFD implementation. “Rasuna Said will later be prepared to become a car free day like Sudirman-Thamrin,” Pramono stated. “So that Jakarta residents have many choices,” he added. Pramono hopes that the expansion of locations and adjustment of CFD hours can make residents more active in exercising and maintaining health. It should be noted that CFD activities in Jakarta usually take place from 06:00 to 10:00 WIB in the Sudirman-Thamrin area. During that time period, main road sections are closed to motor vehicles and redirected to become public spaces for residents who want to exercise, cycle, or simply take a leisurely walk.
