Pramono: The Sub-district Office Must Be the People's House, Providing Accessible Services

During the inauguration of the Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office in South Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, Pramono said: ‘When you look at this sub-district office, frankly, people would see luxury. I ask the head of the sub-district and all staff, even though the place is nice, it must still be a house for the people, open to the public.’ Pramono emphasised that the government’s task is to provide services that are easy, fast, and comfortable for the public. Therefore, the existence of the new office is expected to improve the quality of public service for residents of Kebayoran Baru. ‘Our duty is to provide services that are easier, simpler, and better for the public,’ he said. In addition to highlighting services, Pramono also reminded of the importance of maintaining government facilities, joking with the Kebayoran Baru sub-district head about the challenge of keeping the new building well-maintained: ‘Building it is easy, but maintenance is often the problem.’ He urged the Kebayoran Baru sub-district head to ensure the readiness of the district staff to maintain the building’s condition: ‘Don’t have a nice office built like this and then not be able to maintain it, Sir.’ Meanwhile, Mayor of South Jakarta M Anwar reported that the construction of the Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office is part of settling the remaining obligations of PT Danayasa Arthatama through the social facilities and public facilities (fasos-fasum) scheme. The office building has five storeys including a basement and is equipped with facilities such as air conditioning, lifts, a generator, a fire pump, and other utility facilities. ‘The handover of the building has been carried out in accordance with Handover Report No. 559/KR.03.01 dated 8 January 2026 with a total asset value of Rp 33,711,778,000,’ Anwar said. Anwar hopes the new building will improve public service quality for residents of Kebayoran Baru.
