Pramono Targets Semanggi Park Completion by 2027 as Gift for Jakarta's 500th Anniversary
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has targeted the revitalisation of Semanggi Park to be completed in 2027. The project is being prepared as a gift for the 500th anniversary celebration of Jakarta City.
Pramono stated this while attending the BUMD Leaders Forum 2026 in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026). He said that the concept for the layout of Semanggi Park has entered its final stage.
“Very soon, yesterday there was already the final presentation. I am confident that next year, hopefully on 22 June, Semanggi Park will be finished; it will be a gift for Jakarta’s 500th year,” said Pramono.
According to him, the Semanggi Park area will undergo a major transformation compared to its current condition. The layout is being carried out to make the area a more modern, organised, and comfortable public space for the community.
Pramono also mentioned that this project is part of efforts to beautify the face of the capital ahead of the 500-year milestone of Jakarta. In addition to Semanggi Park, several other points are being improved, such as Bundaran HI.
“Bundaran HI and so on will be laid out, but Semanggi Park will change completely,” he said.
He added that the development does not entirely rely on the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD). The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also encouraging creative financing schemes to accelerate the project’s realisation.
Pramono gave examples of several projects that have been built without using APBD, one of which is Taman Bendera Pusaka.
“Jakarta cannot only rely on APBD. We must utilise other financing schemes,” he added.
