Pramono Targets Long-Delayed Sumber Waras Hospital Construction to Begin in August

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has revealed that the groundbreaking for Sumber Waras Hospital will commence in August 2026. Pramono stated that the hospital is being prepared to become an international-standard facility. “What is not widely known concerns the Sumber Waras Hospital. Alhamdulillah, the Sumber Waras Hospital, which has been unresolved for approximately 14 years, has finally been settled. Hopefully, the groundbreaking will take place this August, as this will become an international hospital,” Pramono said whilst attending the inauguration of the new North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office building with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Pramono noted that the Sumber Waras Hospital issue had been protracted since the era of previous governors. According to him, resolving the matter represents a significant achievement for the Jakarta Provincial Government. “This hospital was left in limbo because it could not be resolved starting from the era of previous governors, for 14 years. And this hospital is now settled, and we will soon carry out the groundbreaking,” he stated. Pramono expressed hope that the hospital would become an international-standard facility capable of improving health services for the people of Jakarta. Previously, on 30 December 2025, Pramono said his administration was targeting the completion of Sumber Waras Hospital by 2028. At that time, Pramono said he had proposed to President Prabowo Subianto that the hospital be designated a national strategic project.
