Pramono Takes Firm Action Against DKI Civil Servants Using Private Vehicles on Wednesdays
GOVERNOR OF DKI JAKARTA PRAMONO ANUNG HAS TAKEN FIRM ACTION against all Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) in DKI Jakarta who use private vehicles on Wednesdays, when ASN are required to use public transport. He stated the policy is part of a systematic effort to improve Jakarta’s mobility, not merely an appeal. He said he remains committed to leading by example, including continuing to commute by public transport in his daily activities. “I am someone who is consistently committed, and even if today I take a detour, I still travel by public transport,” Pramono said at City Hall, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March. He added that the public-transport policy is not just a recommendation but a structured effort to reform the city’s mobility. If data and facts show violations, the Jakarta Provincial Government will not stand idly by; he said he would instruct officials to take action against anyone who breaches the rule of not using public transport. Pramono emphasised that changes to Jakarta’s transport system cannot rely solely on infrastructure; leadership by example among leaders and civil servants is key to building a new culture. “Because this shows how we are working to improve Jakarta’s transport system,” he concluded.
