Pramono Supports BNN's Drug Network Raid in Kampung Bahari
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has expressed his support for the National Narcotics Agency’s (BNN) operation targeting a drug network in Kampung Bahari, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. “The Jakarta Provincial Government, in matters relating to narcotics, fully supports whatever actions are taken by law enforcement, especially the BNN,” Pramono said at City Hall on Thursday.
According to him, the uncovering of the drug case must serve as a lesson for the public to avoid involvement in the circulation or abuse of narcotics. “This is a lesson for everyone not to get trapped or involved in drug-related issues, which will certainly not bring any good in the future,” he said.
Previously, the BNN arrested MR, also known as Bos Gendut, who is suspected of being a drug kingpin in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta, on Wednesday. The Director of Enforcement and Pursuit at BNN RI, Brigadier General Pol Roy Hardi Siahaan, stated that MR was apprehended at 8:09 PM local time in a beauty salon in the Mangga Besar area, West Jakarta. MR was a fugitive linked to a case involving 98 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
