Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has expressed support for the National Narcotics Agency’s (BNN) raid on a drug network in Kampung Bahari, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

“The Jakarta provincial government, in matters relating to drugs, whatever is done by law enforcement officers, especially the BNN, we certainly give our full support,” Pramono said at City Hall, Jakarta, on Thursday.

According to him, the uncovering of the drug case should serve as a lesson for the public not to become involved in the distribution or abuse of narcotics.

“This is a lesson for anyone not to get trapped or involved in drug problems, which will certainly not bring any good in the future,” Pramono said.

Previously, the BNN arrested MR, also known as Bos Gendut, who is suspected of being one of the drug bosses in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/8).

Initially, officers tailed MR as he travelled from Kampung Bahari to Mangga Besar.

“One of the drug kingpins is a fugitive in connection with a drug case on 7 November 2025, identified as MR or Bos Gendut,” Roy said.

MR is known to be a fugitive suspected of involvement in drug trafficking in Kampung Bahari. During the arrest, the BNN seized a number of items of evidence, including dozens of kilograms of methamphetamine.

The BNN also secured firearms, gold bars and other evidence. As the case develops, the BNN is investigating allegations of money laundering committed by MR.
