Pramono: Sumber Waras Hospital to Become International Cancer and Heart Disease Hospital

Jakarta, VIVA – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that the legal issues surrounding the alleged corruption case involving the land purchase for Sumber Waras Hospital have been resolved. He said the construction process for the hospital can now commence.

Pramono expressed his intention to develop Sumber Waras Hospital into an international-standard facility specialising in cancer and heart disease.

“From Pak Ahok’s time, Sumber Waras Hospital has thankfully been resolved. We will soon begin building an international hospital for cancer and heart disease,” said Pramono at the M.H. Thamrin Museum in Central Jakarta on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

He revealed that he has submitted a proposal to President Prabowo Subianto for the construction of the international-standard Sumber Waras Hospital to be designated a National Strategic Project (PSN).

“I have submitted a proposal to President Prabowo Subianto for approval as a PSN, a National Strategic Project,” he said.

“It has already received support from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Hopefully a decision will be made soon,” Pramono added.

On the other hand, Pramono stated that he would proceed with building the hospital even if the PSN designation has not yet been granted by Prabowo.

“Even if the decision has not yet been made, I will still proceed with building Sumber Waras Hospital — we will decide on the name later — but the legal issues have been resolved,” he explained.
