Pramono Suggests Tosari–Bundaran HI Bus Stops Could Serve as Venues for Proposals and Weddings
JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has proposed that Transjakarta bus stops, particularly in the Tosari to Bundaran HI area, could be utilised by the public for activities such as proposals and weddings. He noted that the stops in this area possess strong visual appeal, especially from the second floor, which is frequently used by visitors for photos with the capital’s landscape as a backdrop. The proposal was made by Pramono while attending the 12th anniversary commemoration of Transjakarta at the Tosari stop in Central Jakarta on Friday (27/3/2026). “Just now, I immediately imagined why we don’t use this place (Tosari Stop) for example as a wedding venue, ring exchange, proposals, and so on,” said Pramono. He stated that the view from the stop, which directly faces the Bundaran HI area with the iconic Welcome Monument, provides an added value. Not a few visitors climb to the upper floor just to take photos and enjoy the city panorama from a height. “The place is extraordinary, I didn’t expect it to be like this,” he said. According to him, the figures demonstrate the great strength of Transjakarta, particularly in managing passenger data based on a digital system. “In the modern era, data is power. Transjakarta has an extraordinarily large daily database,” he said. Pramono also opened opportunities for naming rights collaborations for stops and Transjakarta facilities to improve service quality while beautifying the infrastructure. He also touched on the development of the Transjakarta network, including the Transjabodetabek routes that strengthen connectivity to supporting areas such as Bogor. “Now, those going to Bogor every Saturday-Sunday average 8,000 passengers with a fare of Rp3,500. This greatly helps the community,” he said. Although the current fare is still subsidised at Rp3,500, Pramono mentioned that in the future there will be an adjustment to around Rp15,000 so that services can continue to operate.
