Pramono: Student Protests Must Be Respected, But Do Not Damage Public Facilities

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has spoken out regarding a student protest in the MH Thamrin area of Central Jakarta on Friday (12/6/2026), stating that such actions must be respected. He said that every person in Indonesia has the right to express opinions and hold demonstrations, a right guaranteed by law.

"As a former activist, I deeply respect and appreciate that. Now, as Governor of Jakarta, I sincerely hope and request that aspirations be conveyed in the best possible manner," Pramono said at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Friday afternoon.
