Pramono states labour-intensive job vacancies target social safety net projects
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that job vacancies through labour-intensive programmes target social safety net projects in Jakarta, aiming to reduce unemployment rates. “As these are social safety net projects, they can encompass various roles, from assisting the ‘orange troops’ (street cleaners) to PJLP (Individual Service Providers) and so on. The core objective is to ensure people are working,” Pramono said at the Urban Knowledge Hub, South Jakarta, on Monday.
He emphasised that there are no educational background requirements for the programme, noting that it is even open to primary school graduates. However, there is one mandatory requirement: applicants must possess a Jakarta ID card (KTP DKI Jakarta).
“For PJLP roles, Jakarta allows even primary school graduates. Since I became governor, the requirement has changed from high school graduates to including primary school graduates. Therefore, the only requirement is a Jakarta ID card,” Pramette stated.
As reported, the Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing 2,843 job vacancies within the labour-intensive programme to provide opportunities for those currently without employment. With a contract duration of three to six months, participants will receive a wage equivalent to the Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) of Rp5.7 million per month.
Previously, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Jakarta recorded the number of unemployed individuals in Jakarta at 334,000 in February 2026, a decrease from 338,000 in February 2025. Meanwhile, the total labour force in Jakarta as of February 2026 stood at 5.53 million people, an increase of 57,640 compared to the same month in 2025.
