Pramono seeks funding scheme to rebuild Tendean pedestrian bridge

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing various funding schemes to rebuild a pedestrian bridge (JPO) on Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, which was damaged after being struck by a heavy equipment truck. Pramono said the reconstruction of the JPO is a priority because of its location in a congested area with high pedestrian mobility. “We will look for room in the revised APBD, or CSR funds, or KLB funds, or we will invite a strategic partner to build it,” Pramono said at City Hall on Wednesday. He acknowledged that the Bina Marga Agency had indicated the bridge could not be rebuilt immediately due to a lack of available budget, but the administration is committed to finding alternative financing. Pramono noted the truck was carrying a load that exceeded the permitted height limit. He said the relevant agencies and law enforcement will determine whether legal action will be taken against the responsible party. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday when a crane truck struck the bridge, causing severe damage. The structure had to be demolished for safety reasons, and traffic flow in the area was temporarily disrupted before returning to normal after the evacuation was completed.
