Pramono Seeks Funding Scheme for Tendean Footbridge Construction
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that he will immediately rebuild the pedestrian bridge (JPO) on Jalan Kapten Tendean heading towards Blok M, South Jakarta. He described the location as very busy and strategic. This statement was made by Pramono to journalists at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. “We want to build it immediately because the JPO is very strategic,” Pramono said. He explained that he is monitoring developments following an incident where a heavy equipment truck got stuck while passing under the bridge. The former Cabinet Secretary stated that he would seek funding for the construction of the JPO even though the budget is currently unavailable. “So if the Highways Agency says it will not be built yet because the budget is certainly not there, then I will find the funding,” Pramono said. The PDIP politician mentioned that the funding could come from the revised Regional Budget (APBD), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, or Floor Area Ratio (FAR) compensation funds. Pramono reiterated that the Tendean JPO location is very busy and strategic, and that a bridge must be provided immediately to resolve the issues on the ground.
