Pramono Seeks Funding Scheme for Tendean Footbridge Construction

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that he will soon rebuild the pedestrian footbridge, or JPO, on Jalan Kapten Tendean towards Blok M in South Jakarta. He noted that the footbridge in the area is among the busiest and most strategically located.

Pramono conveyed this to reporters when met at the Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

“We want to build it soon because it is one of the strategically located footbridges,” said Pramono on Wednesday.

Pramono explained that he is following developments after an incident in which a truck carrying heavy equipment became stuck while passing under the pedestrian footbridge on Jalan Kapten Tendean towards Blok M, South Jakarta. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.

The former Cabinet Secretary said he would seek funding to rebuild the Tendean footbridge even though no budget is currently available.

“So if Bina Marga says it will not be built yet, that is because the budget indeed is not there. Therefore, I will look for room in the budget,” said Pramono.

Furthermore, the PDIP politician said the funding could come from a revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) or from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. He added that funds could also be sought from Building Floor Coefficient Compensation (KLB), as well as by inviting strategic partners for its construction.

Pramono reiterated that the Tendean footbridge location is very busy and strategic. “There must soon be a footbridge to resolve the problems on the ground. So that is the most important thing,” he said.
