Pramono Says Public Transport Users Increase: Reaching 112 Million Passengers
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that public interest in public transportation in the capital continues to grow. This is evident from the number of public transport users reaching 112 million passengers throughout the first quarter of 2026.
“What is encouraging is that our campaign for public transport usage has received a very positive response. In the first quarter, it has already reached 112 million passengers,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (17/4/2026).
Pramono assessed that this increase is due to service improvements and transport integration. He mentioned that public transport connectivity has now reached around 93%.
According to him, this achievement serves as a positive signal as well as a challenge for the DKI Provincial Government to continue enhancing service quality so that more people switch from private vehicles to public transport.
“Our connectivity is already 93%. This makes public transport easier to access for the public,” he stated.
The DKI Provincial Government, according to Pramono, will continue to promote policies that support public transport usage. One of them is through campaigns for public transport use up to energy efficiency policies.
“We will continue to encourage the public to switch to public transport, including with various policies that support fuel efficiency,” he said.
In addition, the increase in public transport usage is also seen as contributing to efforts to reduce emissions and save energy amid global uncertainties, including the potential impact of El Niño.
