Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that granting naming rights permits for parks to bus stops in the capital is one of the efforts to increase regional revenue through creative financing.

“Matters related to naming rights are indeed one of the policies of the Jakarta government for what is called creative financing, as an example is Taman Bendera Pusaka and Taman Semanggi which do not use the APBD,” said Pramono at City Hall on Friday.

Pramono revealed that Taman Semanggi, as an example of a creative financing project, will be more colourful and attractive than before.

He mentioned that the budget for the revitalisation of the park amounts to Rp134 billion, and the funds will be obtained from naming rights permits.

“Semanggi this hopefully will be completed in June, as a gift to Jakarta. The figure of Rp134 billion is also from naming rights,” explained Pramono.

Pramono revealed that there are still many other facility and infrastructure developments using this policy, for example, the hotel integration project in the Bundaran HI area to directly access the underground MRT station.

Pramono said that naming rights can be for anyone, even if an individual wants to name a park, it will be permitted.

This aims to ensure that the development and improvement of the capital can be done together. Nevertheless, Pramono emphasised that this has nothing to do with political parties.

“Once again, I permit it but this has nothing to do with political parties. I permit naming rights truly with a business approach, so there is no politics in it,” stated Pramono.
