Pramono says 'Love Lock Bridge' to be built over Cideng River
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced that the ‘Love Lock Bridge’ will be built over the Cideng River in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta. “In the arrangement of Jalan Hajjah Rangkayo (HR) Rasuna Said, there is the Cideng River, and small bridges will be built over it,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Saturday. He envisions three or four small bridges at the location, with places on top to attach love locks. “Those who have partners will come there, attach a padlock, and this will become colourful,” Pramono stated. He noted that the location also features the newly inaugurated Integritas Bus Stop in front of the KPK building. “Jakarta residents will later come there with their partners and attach padlocks at the location,” Pramono said. “There will be three or four bridges built over the river,” he added. Previously, Pramono expressed optimism that Jalan HR Rasuna Said, which has been fully revitalised and inaugurated on Saturday, could become a new icon for Jakarta. “I am confident this road will become a new landmark for Jakarta because everyone now sees it is much more organised, neater, and even at the end there are specially installed orchids,” Pramono said. The 3.8-kilometre-long HR Rasuna Said road revitalisation project included pavement improvements, the dismantling of 109 monorail pillars, and elevation adjustments between the express and local lanes, costing approximately Rp91 billion in total.
