Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has highlighted the sudden power outage that occurred yesterday. He hopes that the blackout, which impacted MRT and LRT operations, will not happen again.

“The impact on us. One of them is the MRT, and then the LRT was also affected,” said Pramono during an inspection of dredging work on the West Flood Canal in Kebon Melati, Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026).

Pramono stated that energy is a vital need for Jakarta residents. He reminded of the importance of energy efficiency, as directed by President Prabowo Subianto.

“We hope this does not happen again because energy is now something very important that society needs,” he explained.

He said the DKI Provincial Government has implemented a work-from-home policy of 25-50%, effective from 1 April 2026. According to him, this is an effort to save energy.

“WFH for all of Jakarta will be implemented except for matters related to public services; I still ask them to work as usual,” he said.

Several areas in Jakarta experienced power outages due to a supply disruption from the substation on Thursday (9/4). Lifts at Lebak Bulus MRT Station were temporarily affected, causing several people to be trapped inside.

“People got stuck in the lifts due to power disruptions in several areas of Jakarta. Alhamdulillah, they were successfully evacuated by firefighters,” said a resident at the location, Ijoel, when confirmed by detikcom on Thursday (9/4).
