Pramono Requests Inspectorate to Examine Village Head Following AI Photo Response to Citizen Report

Residents claim that their report on the JAKI application was responded to with a photo produced by artificial intelligence (AI) manipulation. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has requested the DKI Inspectorate to examine the village head in the relevant area.

“I have already asked the Inspectorate to check whether it was the village head, the one in Kalisari or the sub-district head. Whoever is at fault must be punished,” Pramono said at Pasar Gardu Asem, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/4/2026).

Pramono stated that using AI to respond to public reports constitutes lying. He urged DKI Provincial Government officials to provide honest information.

“It is better, for example, to say it is not yet completed if that is the case, rather than using AI which essentially deceives. This must not happen again, because for the Jakarta government, transparency is important,” he said.

He asked all DKI Provincial Government ranks to be more careful. He stated that direct services to residents are more important than administrative matters.

“Whoever is proven to have made a mistake will be sanctioned,” Pramono said.

Previously, a post regarding a resident’s complaint on the JAKI application, which was followed up with an AI-edited photo, went viral on social media. The report concerned illegal parking in a housing complex in East Jakarta.

The reported photo showed several cars parked on the roadside. Then, there was an officer in an orange uniform standing at the location.

The poster then attached the photo from the JAKI report response. The follow-up photo showed that the row of parked cars was no longer there.

However, the photo’s angle remained unchanged. Only the officer’s clothing was slightly different. Because of this, the poster reported that an AI photo was used to respond to the citizen’s complaint.
