Pramono Releases Rp 5.8 Billion in Aid for NTT Earthquake Victims
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has released humanitarian aid worth Rp 5.8 billion for earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Pramono said the assistance was a form of empathy from the Jakarta Provincial Government and the people of Jakarta.
The aid, totalling Rp 5,853,728,500, was dispatched from Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (20/8/2026). It consists of food and non-food logistics, cash, and a mobile water treatment plant (WTP).
“This is part of our sense of empathy, togetherness, and humanity, sharing the feelings of the Jakarta Provincial Government and the people of Jakarta,” Pramono said.
Pramono said the Jakarta Provincial Government had sent a health team to NTT a day after the earthquake occurred. The team is now on site to assist in handling victims.
Pramono also revealed other needs conveyed by the team in the field. One of them is nappies for children and the elderly.
“Yesterday I also communicated with the Governor of NTT; he expressed appreciation for the Jakarta Provincial Government, which was the first to send aid. I also communicated with our team there,” he said.
“Earlier I also told the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency that one of the things needed is nappies. Because the conditions require it, especially for the elderly and children,” he continued.
Therefore, Pramono asked that nappies be one of the priorities in the next aid shipment.
“For future shipments, I have said that nappies are one of our priorities,” he said.
Pramono stressed that the Rp 5.8 billion aid was not the last. The Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunities for civil servants, regional apparatuses, regional-owned enterprises, and other parties to participate until 25 August.
“This is the initial stage, once again the amount is Rp 5.8 billion. Hopefully it will provide benefits for our brothers and sisters in NTT,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Marulitua Sijabat, said the aid came from a number of regional apparatuses, regional-owned enterprises, and Baznas Bazis DKI Jakarta. Aid from BPBD DKI includes ready-to-eat meals, biscuits, mineral water, folding mattresses, pillows, blankets, family kits, children’s wear, tarpaulins, and sacks.
The Jakarta Social Agency sent mineral water, children’s food packages, and tarpaulins or rolled tents. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Health Agency provided aid in the form of NaCl infusions, RL infusions, D40 percent infusions, and betadine. Baznas Bazis DKI also provided sardines, corned beef, baby biscuits, baby porridge, instant porridge, instant noodles, and rendang.
Perumda PAM Jaya also provided 202 water tanks. In addition to goods, there was cash amounting to Rp 1.11 billion, which was a donation from regional-owned enterprises and regional apparatus organisations (OPD) of DKI Jakarta. The Jakarta Provincial Government also sent a mobile WTP worth Rp 2.5 billion to help meet the clean water needs of communities affected by the disaster.
