Pramono Receives Bids for Naming Rights to JIS
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has revealed that he has received several proposals for the naming rights to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
“There have been several applications for JIS naming rights,” Pramono said in Central Jakarta on Friday (30 October).
However, Pramono declined to name the parties that had submitted requests for the naming rights.
He said a decision on who would receive the naming rights would be made soon.
“We will decide on JIS’s naming rights soon,” he said.
On JIS, Pramono said activity at the stadium had become increasingly lively. He noted that 15 concerts were scheduled to take place there in 2027.
The Jakarta governor said he believed JIS was becoming more attractive because transport access to the area had improved.
“Transport, which used to be a bottleneck because of congestion, has improved. The area has been connected to Ancol, there is also the KRL [commuter rail], and soon we will build another platform at JIS for the KRL, turning it from one side into two,” Pramono explained.
He cited his own visit to JIS in late September, when he attended a concert by international musician The Weeknd.
“I wanted to see for myself, and it is true that transport and congestion are being handled well. That was also reflected in the concertgoers’ experience,” he concluded.
