Pramono Proposes President Prabowo Inaugurate Jakarta LRT Phase 1B in August

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has requested President Prabowo Subianto to inaugurate the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B, which covers the remaining segment from Rawamangun Station to Manggarai Station. Pramono stated that the stations—Rawamangun, Pramuka BPKP, Pasar Pramuka, Matraman, and Manggarai—are the continuation of Phase 1B and are scheduled to begin operations in August 2026. He noted that the transport project, fully constructed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, will be a significant legacy that transforms the face of the capital’s transportation. The development, managed by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) through its subsidiary PT LRT Jakarta, has now reached 95 percent progress. Pramono said the inauguration by President Prabowo would carry symbolic meaning as a milestone in Jakarta’s public transport development. He explained that connectivity from the northern areas to the city centre has long been hampered by severe congestion, and the LRT is expected to provide a mobility solution for the public. The Jakarta LRT Phase 1B will connect the Kelapa Gading area to Manggarai, spanning 12.2 kilometres with 11 stations. The line will also strengthen integration with other transport modes, thereby expanding the mass transit network in Jakarta.
