The Jakarta Provincial Government has commenced construction of the Donat Bridge pedestrian deck in the Dukuh Atas area of Central Jakarta. The facility is designed to connect pedestrian traffic to six public transport modes in the vicinity. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the bridge, targeted for completion by 2028, will link MRT Jakarta, KRL Commuter Line, Transjakarta buses, the Airport Rail Link, LRT Jabodebek, and LRT Jakarta services. He noted that the facility would make it easier for the public to access public transport, including those intending to travel abroad. “Earlier, the Deputy Governor suggested how much better it would be if, once it is finished, we could have goods from our MSMEs, duty-free. We should create a duty-free area,” Pramono said during the Donat Bridge groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday.
