Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung plans to prepare more detailed regulations regarding naming rights for bus stops up to stations in the capital. “Naming rights will certainly be regulated in a more detailed and specific manner,” Pramono said when met in East Jakarta on Tuesday. According to Pramono, as a modern city, Jakarta must open itself to various opportunities. Nevertheless, he is committed to maintaining the comfort and beauty of the capital. For that reason, he will draft more detailed regulations. “Of course, the naming rights granted must not disrupt the city’s beauty, and we will regulate that,” Pramono explained. Previously, Pramono opened opportunities for anyone, including political parties, to sponsor names for bus stops and stations. This scheme is expected to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD). The scheme is described as an effort to boost regional income through the commercialisation of public facility names. However, the idea has gone viral on social media. In several posts related to the matter, many netizens commented that it could disrupt aesthetics. Even celebrity Zaskia Adya Mecca commented on a post by @jktcreativemedia. “Disruptive,” Zaskia commented. That comment received many responses from the public. Thousands of people also liked Zaskia’s comment.
