Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has expressed appreciation for the performance of the Bina Marga yellow troops, who are deemed to be working maximally despite often receiving criticism from the public. Pramono praised the yellow troops for their prompt action in patching potholes in Jakarta.

“Even though working like this cannot satisfy everyone. There will always be complaints, there will always be grumbles. But your duty is to continue providing the best service for Jakarta,” said Pramono while attending the halalbihalal event with the Bina Marga ranks in East Jakarta, Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Pramono stated that criticism and input from the public are natural. However, he assessed that appreciation for the yellow troops’ work is far greater.

“Those who give appreciation are more numerous than those who criticise,” he said.

On that occasion, Pramono also admitted to receiving many reports from the cycling community regarding pothole repairs in Jakarta. He assessed that the yellow troops are quite prompt in handling the issue, despite facing extreme weather challenges.

“I am a cyclist, and several of my friends have given appreciation because now you are quite prompt in patching the existing holes,” he revealed.

Nevertheless, Pramono reminded the Bina Marga ranks not to work only because of complaints or viral issues on social media. He asked all personnel to prioritise professionalism and responsibility in carrying out their duties.

“Do not always work on it because of complaints or because it is viral. You are responsible for what is your duty,” he stressed.

Pramono also emphasised the importance of the yellow troops’ role as the spearhead in maintaining the quality of road infrastructure in Jakarta, including handling potholes and sidewalk maintenance. He hopes that the good performance and work spirit can be continuously maintained for the comfort of the public.

“The issue of potholes and sidewalks must be handled together. The spearhead is all of you,” he said.
