Pramono Personally Oversees Plecostomus Fish Capture in Elite Housing River
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung directly inspected the plecostomus fish capture operation on Jalan Janur Elok VI Blok QD9, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026). Kompas.com observations at the site revealed that the river visited by Pramono is located in the midst of an elite residential environment. The approximately five-metre-wide river runs alongside large modern-façade houses, high fences, and neatly arranged gardens. Luxury cars are parked in garages, several spots are equipped with security cameras, and access is tightly guarded via a security post with an automatic gate. However, in the midst of this area, the river flows with murky greenish water. Although it appears clean without rubbish, the water quality is evidently poor. PPSU and Water Resources Agency (SDA) personnel were seen several times cleaning rubbish around the flow. The activity attracted the attention of nearby residents. Several residents observed from a distance, while others who were exercising approached to watch the capture process up close. In about ten minutes, five fairly large plecostomus fish were successfully caught. Some of them were then shown to Pramono.
